It is with great pleasure and honor that I begin the second half of the 2021-2022 school year as your principal at Foothill Middle School. It has been a great privilege to serve the AUSD community for the past 26 years, first as a high school teacher, next as an assistant principal for both a middle school and K-8 elementary school, and now as your middle school principal. I am excited to continue the work underway as begun by Principal Sam Perdomo and the fabulous team of teachers and staff at FMS.  It gives me great joy to know our staff is focused on working with your students to see each one learn, thrive, and grow in their education. 

Middle school years can be a time of great challenge and growth for our students.  As a staff, we feel that we play a critical role in the development of our young people. This belief is why we strive to provide a supportive, nurturing, and growth-minded environment. We believe in providing a positive learning environment for our students that promotes learning and responsibility. Providing a solid foundation of academic rigor and the opportunity to explore new ideas is essential to that growth. In pursuit of this belief, we also believe that a partnership with our parents is vital to the success of our students.
