Now more than ever, don’t let a lack of money get in the way of your college education. Financial aid is available to help cover college costs like tuition, books, supplies and sometimes even rent. There are many different types of financial aid such as grants and scholarships (which you don’t have to pay back), and loans. The first step is to apply - even if you aren’t sure you’ll qualify. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available every year on October 1st.
For undocumented, Dream Act-eligible students, the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) is your first step to getting financial aid. There is no need to fill out both the FAFSA and CADAA applications. Apply as soon as you can, and before the March 2 Cal Grant deadline, to get the most financial aid possible.
